Sometimes Iwaizumi exaggerates when he's nervous.
He leads them up the stairs, manages to make it to the top unharmed.]
[Tobio tries his very best to not stare at Iwaizumi's ass as he leads them up the stairs, but it's really hard to not look when it's right there in front of him and looking the way it does.

He takes his seat opposite Iwaizumi while nervously glancing around the restaurant, feeling completely out of place even though none of the other patrons are even paying attention to him.]

I can recommend around half the menu, but I haven't had the other half so you're on the own if you pick something I haven't tried. [He's come here a lot, mostly with Oikawa who insists on getting the same thing every time and makes Iwaizumi try something new so he can steal bites without having to risk having a whole plate of something he doesn't like, which works out when Iwaizumi cares far less about his food.]
[He almost looks embarrassed, wiping his hands on the hem of his shirt under the table to get rid of the sweat he insists came from running here.
Usually when Tobio eats out he just picks up something from the convenience store and eats it while walking home, he can count the times he's been to an actual sit down restaurant on both his hands.]
[He's laughing again, that's just a very Kageyama thing to do. Also a very Oikawa thing to do, though he only seems to ever be late when it's Iwaizumi waiting. Iwaizumi's getting the impression that Kageyama did want to be on time, which is a nice change.]
I like the tofu, but I haven't had it since the first time. [Thanks to Oikawa. Though Oikawa did make a good point that this is a seafood place and tofu is not seafood.] Probably going to have it today but... [He tries to think.] You'd probably like the seafood bowl though, if you're wanting recommendations. [Doesn't cross his mind that Kageyama might just be curious about what his crush likes to eat.]
[Iwaizumi laughing is a good sign right? If it was Oikawa Tobio might have considered that the other was making fun of him but Iwaizumi is nicer than that.]

[Now that they're settled and talking about food it's occurring to him again that he's somehow ended up on a date with Kageyama, and that's just plain weird when it comes down to it. He clears his throat.]
[He would have been way more excited about practice if he didn't have a date with Iwaizumi right after. Most things pale in comparison to finally going on a date with the guy you've had a crush on for years.
It's... [He tries to figure out a way to voice the problems he has with school that won't make Iwaizumi think he's a huge idiot.] a lot harder than middle school.
Damn, right? [He shakes his head, middle school seems so long ago and so much easier than anything he's doing now. If it wasn't for Oikawa's obsessive habits flowing on to anyone who spends time with him, Iwaizumi wouldn't be half the student that he is.]
[He bites his lip. It's different from middle school though. Iwaizumi helped him a lot during practice but for studying he was always on his own. It's a miracle he even made it to high school.]
[Well one of them has the courage to say it.] He's your friend though, right? [Iwaizumi is pretty sure they qualify as friends. Plus, it's not like Kageyama is an intellectual giant.]
