horrible bdsm au | still no actual bdsm
[A few days after confessing to Oikawa finds Tobio outside the gym after practice drinking a post-practice carton of milk and wondering if everyone's first love goes like this.
He leans against the wall of the locker room and stares at the lights, standing out now that the sun has set, that are still on in the gym. He knows Oikawa is still in there, still practicing, and considers going in to join him as he sucks on his straw.
The last time he was alone in the gym with Oikawa didn't exactly go as expected.
He absentmindedly scratches at his neck, the bruises Oikawa sucked into his skin having almost faded away but he can still feel them searing hot on his skin. That part had been nice, kissing in general was nice and something he could definitely get used to. Touching his senpai was even more exciting then it had been in his fantasies. Getting punched in the gut was... not something he ever saw coming.
He's heard people say that love hurts before but something tells him they don't mean it that way.
Oikawa didn't accept his feelings, which he did expect, but he also didn't outright reject him and now he's left wondering where they stand. He could try talking to Oikawa again but ever since the incident Oikawa seems to avoid being alone with him, and it's not like he can bring up how Oikawa feels about making out with him in front of the whole team.
His mother had told him countless times that he can always come to her with any problem he has, but he thinks she might mean problems with his schoolwork or his peers instead of the feelings he has for his senpai who may or may not hate him.
And despite being in the same class for a few months now he hasn't managed to make any friends among his classmates, so no chance to ask for love advice there either.
Which leaves him all alone, trying to work out just what exactly his feelings are and how to deal with them.
Unless...
Even across the quickly darkening school grounds he can make out the silhouette of the other person staring at the doors to the gym.
Iwaizumi usually sticks around after practice. From overhearing their conversations in the locker room Tobio knows they often walk home together and that Iwaizumi worries about Oikawa overworking himself.
Iwaizumi is a reliable upperclassman, he did help Tobio out that one time and is always nice to him. He also knows Oikawa best of anyone on the team and might be the only person able to help Tobio figure out how to solve his problems.
Tobio squishes the now empty milk carton in his hand and drops it in the trashbin as he quickly walks over to where Iwaizumi is standing.]
Iwaizumi-senpai!

Iwaizumi-senpai!

He's just about at the point of declaring his match a draw, when Kageyama speaks, making him jump. That kid is freakishly quiet.]
Hey, Kageyama.
[He's been trying not to ask what's been up with him, even though his bruises have faded, the fact that they were there in the first place and apparently of no concern to him is a concern to Iwaizumi. But if he's approaching him now then it's possibly time for that discussion. He'll let him talk first though, he thinks that is what a good senpai is supposed to do.]

They're dirty and scuffed, the sole is coming lose on the inside of the left one and he makes a mental note to ask his mom if he can get new ones before he remembers he's not alone and Iwaizumi is waiting for him to actually say something.]
Are you waiting for Oikawa-senpai to finish?
[Dancing around the issue? Him? Never.]
no subject
I was wondering how long I should give him before I drag him out of there.
no subject
[Tobio doesn't think Oikawa would turn Iwaizumi down if he asked to practice together, and surely everyone could benefit from practice with Oikawa.]
no subject
I practise with him too much as it is. If I joined him he'd never leave.
no subject
It would be easier to drag him away from the court if you're there with him.
no subject
I don't want to give him the satisfaction. [He probably will have to at some point, but, honestly, Kageyama is a welcome distraction and saving Oikawa from his own stupidity can wait.]
What are you here for?
no subject
I was waiting for Oikawa-senpai.
[Sort of. Maybe if he corners Oikawa right after he has run himself down practicing he won't have the energy to run away from Tobio.]
no subject
Going to ask him to teach you to serve?
no subject
[Tobio might be pouting.]
no subject
Are you going to listen?
no subject
There was something else I wanted to ask him.
no subject
Oh, what?
no subject
[Well he did decide he needed Iwaizumi's help. Being upfront about these things is best, right?]
no subject
So, you're going to ask him? [Why is Iwaizumi friends with people like this?]
no subject
I don't know. You know him better than I do.
no subject
Still like him after he punched him?
no subject
[If he was the type to be discouraged by negativity he would have given up a loooooong time ago.]
no subject
You've got shitty taste, Kageyama.
[He sighs, grumbling. Why are they like this.]
Want me to talk to him about the punching? [Don't punch people, assikawa.]
no subject
Why?
[No he, sincerely does not understand why that means he has shitty taste, please explain senpai.]
I just wanted to know what you think.
no subject
I think I need to show an asshole how getting punched feels. [He's practically talking to himself about that, because he knows Kageyama won't get it.]
Look, Oikawa is... [How do you talk about someone like Oikawa?] Weird. It's possible he's interested. But I think you're an idiot for going there. [Don't call twelve year olds idiots, Iwaizumi.]
no subject
Why? [Sounding like a broken record here, Tobio-chan.]
no subject
Oikawa isn't good with feelings. [He pauses.] Might be because the dick doesn't have any.
no subject
I think he has feelings.
no subject
Iwaizumi barks a laugh.] Maybe. If sadism is a feeling.
