((ooc: I sure had a brain melt when I was doing my previous tag and forgot that ennoshita is a second year, I'm so sorry. so let's just... ignore what I was saying there.))

I suppose you could call it studying, Iwa-chan would disagree with that word, he claims I've abandoned him to live here. [Or, more accurately, he yells at him that Oikawa can't live here when he weasels out of him that Oikawa's only been leaving university grounds to sleep, it's a miracle that Ennoshita caught him at a time when he's not in either the gym or the library.] And you?

[personal profile] returnvolley 2015-07-21 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
((ooc: It's okay! I actually realized too late myself that I switched up Yui and Ennoshita's prompts... I'm so sorry...))

I was planning on enrolling, actually.

[He starts, though a part of him kind of regrets saying it because there are expectations involved in it and he's kind of already up to his neck with expectations. Why Daichi-san ever thought it was a good idea to make him the new captain is beyond him, but between that and university hunting, well...]

They have a good film course here from what I've learned, so I figured it can't hurt. What are you taking up?

[He asks, always polite to a degree.]
tooruler: (well now)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-07-24 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
[Oikawa blinks, eyes going wide in fake surprise. Yahaba mentioned once about helping out on one of Ennoshita projects, so it's not really a leap that he'd choose to go into film when he already manages to squeeze it in around volleyball.] Film? Really Ennoshita-san? That's very competitive, you know.

I'm in political science. [He says it shorty, he's good at what he does, and puts in his best effort, but doesn't enjoy it, as such.]

[personal profile] returnvolley 2015-07-25 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
Political science?

[That's... a bit of a surprise, he thinks. Then again, he supposed that even Oikawa has interests outside of sports. It's hard to tell with how seriously everyone takes volleyball, even if not all of them know quite what to do after high school. His rivalry with Kageyama had always been quite a memory for all of them.

Still, he offers a smile that seems more at ease at the words, shrugging lightly.]
It is, but I think it would be fun. It's been something I've wanted to try for a while.

[He still plays, of course he does and he loves the college team, though he's looking forward to next year when the previous setter graduates and he'll be the starting setter - as interesting as it's been being a kouhai again - but he couldn't try for a professional team straight out of high school, and it's better to have some study under his belt anyway.

His choice of study wasn't entirely his decision though, and it's a constant sore point. So if he sounds chilly as he replies, that would be the reason.]
Yes, political science.

[And changing the topic back to something that doesn't turn his mood sour as a lemon.] Following your dreams is very impressive! Do you think you'll have time to try out for the team?

[personal profile] returnvolley 2015-07-28 03:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[He sounds chilly, all right. That... might have not been a good topic to start with. He's a little concerned about whether or not he stepped on toes, but Oikawa easily changes the topic for both of them.

He's relieved, because he doesn't really know how to go about it otherwise.]

I might try out, but I'm nowhere as good as Daichi-san... so we'll see. [He loves volleyball, sure, but he never really does grow out of that guilty phase. On the plus side, he's trying.] Are you the setter yet? It's been a while since I've seen you play.
tooruler: (like you even could)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-07-29 02:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Not yet, not yet. But soon enough - as long as there isn't anyone amazing joining next year. [As much as he tries to keep his bonds with the team strong to give himself an edge over anyone new, he's aware that there's always someone better and younger following just a little behind. He's better about not worrying about it, but it's impossible to ignore entirely.]

I don't think you need to be as good as Sawamura-san, you're not him, focusing on your own strengths is always better, Ennoshita-kun~

Besides, how can you be so sure you're not as good when it's been a year since you played with him, hm? [He's slipped into his old captain demeanour without intending to, all smiles and support, he's looking forward to having kouhais next year.]

[personal profile] returnvolley 2015-07-29 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
You think so? But you're pretty amazing yourself, aren't you?

[He knows about the rivalry with Kageyama, but he's... admittedly not sure of his capability to pass in this school. Actually, if no one gives him a volleyball scholarship, he might as well kiss his chances goodbye here. Anyway, being on the other side of the court against Kageyama outside of practice would be interesting, assuming he even gets that far in tryouts.]

He visits the school occasionally, so sometimes he still practices with us. [he offers the answer casually, politely avoiding commenting on the first part. It's... not as if he's not aware of it, at least. It's just weird being praised sometimes, especially off court.] If I remember correctly, you're going to have a practice match soon with his school.
tooruler: (bean?)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-08-01 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Ahhh~ Ennoshita-kun shouldn't go around calling people amazing or they might start to get a swell head. [Something he's been accused of many many times already.] But there's always someone better.

Does he? That's so like him, keeping up with his old team. I suppose it's good practise for you. Though, if he's spending all his time playing high schoolers I can't imagine his team will be hard to beat. [He says it lightly and cheerfully, but he's taking note as he does, all information is important information.

He hadn't realised Daichi is on that team, but he's been waiting for old Karasuno members to turn up, they seem like the types to never go away. He'll have to offer some information on him to the rest of his team, details of first years are always harder to find.]

[personal profile] returnvolley 2015-08-01 06:56 am (UTC)(link)
[He refrains on commenting on that. From what little he knows of him, he's pretty egoistic even without his help. He's still his senior though, so he can't just be rude to him. Not that he planned to be, but still.

The comment about Daichi and the implication though makes his smile a little tighter. Well.]

Well, I wouldn't say that. After all, we did beat Seijoh in the last match.

[That, and Daichi wasn't really a regular yet, but that didn't matter. He insulted the Karasuno he's leading.]
tooruler: (oooooo~)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-08-09 12:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[Low blow, Ennoshita! You're going to make him cry. Inwardly. Inwardly, he's crying very hard. Outwardly he's looking a little sheepish.]

This team isn't Seijoh, Ennoshita-kun. We have a next level dynamic and it's very complex! So that comparison is a little unfair, don't you think? Besides, aren't you considering joining us? Do you want to claim that we're not strong and powerful leaders of the pack?

[personal profile] returnvolley 2015-08-11 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[Low blow is part of his charm, or something like that. Actually, that's probably how he keeps dumb and dumber in line or else there's no way he can control them. Either way, no one disses their former captain and gets away with it.]

This isn't the only school I'm considering, besides... I haven't quite decided if I want to join the team. It's different from when we were in high school, after all.

[He might, he might not, it really depends. As current captain, he doesn't want to leave any regrets when he graduates, but he never really thought about whether or not he wants to carry that on in the future or if he would be satisfied with what they have now.]

What's the team like anyway?
tooruler: (like you even could)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-08-16 11:55 am (UTC)(link)
[Surprisingly, Oikawa actually understands his hesitation to join. He'd just assumed that he's invested enough that he wouldn't consider not because he goes to Karasuno, who seem to get more obsessive every year. So he puts some thought into his reply, trying to remember what he knows about Ennoshita.]

Hmmm, we're friendly, I think. The senpais like taking care of first years, but it's different to high school, everyone understands that the work is harder so most of the training is intense and short. [His sheepishness from before returns.] But I talked the coach into a wider load.

They like loyalty. [He shrugs, mostly they're a standard team, trying hard to use everything they can.]

[personal profile] returnvolley 2015-08-17 01:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't all teams?

[Or maybe he's speaking of the current Karasuno, the generations he's been in where they kept dragging him back despite his numerous protests. Even if it took a while, the effort worked, but it never quite felt right to be captain since, despite what everyone else says.]

Intense and short? Not longer than in highschool?
tooruler: (you got me~)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-08-21 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm... [he's not entirely sure, when it comes to hours, if he's spending more or less time on it. It certainly feels like it's less, but he suspects that's because the effort needed for everything else is finally catching up to what he was already putting in to volleyball.]

I think it's about the same, but you can't really expect university level to be shorter than high school, so that means that it's short, doesn't it? [There's probably gaping holes in his logic he doesn't care to fill. He likes filling his time to the brim with his coursework and exercise, this conversation is probably the longest he's spent on something other than those since a cute girl from one of his classes asked him out and they grabbed coffee.]

[personal profile] returnvolley 2015-08-22 09:30 am (UTC)(link)
I don't really know if it works that way. University volleyball isn't really the same as pro volleyball is it?

[So depending on where they go, it might not even count the same. It's nothing like in highschool, where they can even seem like more of a celebrity than pros with sports. Not as much as baseball, but well-- he's seen Oikawa on TV before for a reason.]
tooruler: (okey dokey~★)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-09-02 11:28 am (UTC)(link)
[Oikawa attracts cameras because of his natural charm and charisma. Also, he has a very nice face.]

Hmm, I think you're right there. But, [and he plasters on a smile like he does when he's selling himself to a camera,] it's very fun, Ennoshita-kun.

[personal profile] returnvolley 2015-09-03 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ahh...]

When you smile like that, it makes you look untrustworthy to me, Oikawa-san. No offense...

[And really, he doesn't mean any, but it's such a suspicious smile overall that he does feel dubious looking at it.]
tooruler: (oooooo~)

[personal profile] tooruler 2015-09-16 12:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[Boo, how rude!]

I'll have you know I'm terribly trustworthy, they don't make untrustworthy people captains, you know? [He's really missing being able to pull the captain card on his current team and is just hoping that he gets named again when it's time for that.]

[personal profile] returnvolley 2015-09-22 12:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, well... I can't deny you'd be a very reliable captain to have on the court.

[Not... trustworthy though. Sorry. He's trying not to be rude again, but that's probably a moot point by now.]
