convenient store is go!
Of course, she's already been visited by a few friends who found out. Her former teammates teased her about any cute guys she's met, and Sawamura wished her good luck when he had accidentally found out by entering said store. All in all, it hasn't been too bad. She was responsible and cheerful, and she's gotten along with all the old ladies who passed by. So she was confident nothing can go wrong, at least not right now.
So when the bell rings, signalling someone entering the store, she smiles brightly from behind the counter-- it's been a very slow day-- as she greets him.]
Hello, welcome to our store!
yay!!
Well, if they're not charmed by his winning smile anyway.
He has a smaller smile in place than his usual today, he doesn't like summer, not now he's free of school and club activities, when all he's doing is waiting and trying to nail down his plans for college. Most of the work is finished, but there's still one or two things left hanging that have yet to resolve themselves which irk him.
He waves to the store clerk behind the counter as she greets him. Her face rings a bell, but he can't place it, she might have gone to Seijou? Perhaps a year ahead of him and that's why he doesn't immediately recognise her. Still, worth further investigation.]
Have you worked here long?
no subject
Oh hey! You're that grand king, aren't you? From Aoba Jousai?
[Okay so she might be picking up the wrong keywords from Sawamura's teammates.]
no subject
I'm not sure, what does a grand king entail? Oh! But I am from Aoba Jousai. Where are you from?
[She could be from Karasuno if she's calling him that, but it's hard to say, nicknames do have a tendency to spread after all.]
no subject
I'm from Karasuno, but we've never really met. I've seen you on TV though.
no subject
Do you have a name as well? I would hate to have to call you "the cute girl from Karasuno" if I mention you to someone.
the lack of appropriate icons kill me
...
Wait what? Did he just
He just did
Oh god that is so embarrassing, he just called her cute.
The reaction is almost immediate at the words, only delayed by the brief pause at the beginning when she had been absorbing what was said. It doesn't take long after that for her to look extremely embarrassed, eyes widening and jaw dropping for a second before she turns beet red, arms already flying out in front of her in denial as she shakes her head.]
W, what-- no, I'm not-- I mean, I um... [Oh gosh so flustered. If you were Sawamura, she'd punch you.] I, I, um...
Michimiya. [She ends up squeaking out in the end. Oh god that's so embarrassing.]
the suffering of playing minor characters :(
He smiles and tries not to laugh as she stutters. Eventually leaning forward because he didn't really catch that.]
Michi-? [He thinks that was the first half of that squeak. Please don't put him in the same category as Sawamura and start punching, he's already got Iwaizumi throwing volleyballs at him on a regular basis.]
no subject
She resists the urge to hide her face in embarrassment, shaking her head immediately to try to calm down. Okay. Okay. She can do this she's much more composed than this oh god he called her cute is he for real how can he say that so casually how do you even respond--
And then she slaps her cheeks really hard that it echoes inside the store.
Okay.
She's got this.
She straightens up almost immediately after, those hands of hers moving away from her face and forming little fistpumps of determination. Please ignore the palm marks on her face.]
Sorry! It's Michimiya Yui of Karasuno, former captain of the Girl's Volleyball Team. It's nice to meet you, Grand King!
no subject
It's nice to meet you, former captain of Karasuno Girls' volleyball team.
[He scratches his cheek, because he sure is still looking at those pink marks, they're very distracting, and very pink.
Maybe... he steps around to one of the other aisles, looking for something along them, he finds it easily enough and returns to toss a 500 yen coin onto the counter to cover the cost, and follows it with a small bottle of aloe vera.] For your cheeks, Michimiya-chan.
no subject
Eh? I'm fine, really! [Even if her cheeks are red, her resolve is pure and strong! Or well, something to that extent. Either way, that's not the outcome she wanted.]
I actually do this a lot. It's really helpful when I want to focus.
[Please don't buy her stuff, paying customer. She doesn't want you to do that.]
no subject
Doesn't that hurt? [Her cheeks are still pink!!
Please take that aloe, it's doing him a favour.]
no subject
[So no, nooo no not getting that.]
It's like-- when you're panicking or in a pinch, you need a wake up call. That's how it works.
[Even offering you a reassuring smile because she's totally fine, please believe her.]
no subject
But it would be rude to disagree more when she's so convinced.]
I see, I see. Maybe I'll give it a try sometime. [He considers for a moment.] Or maybe I'll get Iwa-chan to do it for me, he's always very bracing.
no subject
[She can't hear their banter very well from the stands, unfortunately, so she's not sure who that one is.]
no subject
Though we're tragically separated for now. [He pauses, pretending to consider whether any of that would be useful in identifying Iwaizumi.] He's the cranky one who used to yell at me.
no subject
[And you know, Yui was also an ace in her team. Tragically, they were never even half as good as the Karasuno boys' team, and she still believes it's her fault, but the past is the past.]
You guys didn't go to the same university then?
no subject
We're not, [he sighs, it's mostly for show but he really is a bit upset that he won't have his ace with him to keep fighting.] Iwa-chan's joining the workers of the world until he's old enough to join the police force. [Oikawa shakes his head.] I always new he was a brute, but I didn't know how much of one until he told me that was his plan.
no subject
[It's an innocent question, but she has heard that he was super good. She knows that Seijoh was something like a giant hurdle for their team before, because of how good they were. She smiles at that, though, giggling a bit.]
You're saying that, but... doesn't that mean you'll miss him?
[She may not be as good as he is in volleyball, but she can be observant in other parts.]
no subject
[He'll find time, he's sure, and he's not looking forward to it, but he can deny it all he likes at times like these.]
no subject
[And she'll even deliver a playful punch to his shoulder-- or well, it's playful for her, maybe more painful for him.
Sorry man, she doesn't know her own strength sometimes.] I wish my friends visited me more often here.
no subject
Well, I can visit again, if you'd like. [He might stand a couple of steps further back in future, though.]
no subject
[--- Oh. Oooh crap. Now she remembers!]
Ack! I'm sorry, did I take up all your time? You must've been busy too.
